Your Normal Retirement Date (NRD) is the 1st day of the month following your 65th birthday or your 65th birthday if it’s the 1st day of the month.

If you wish to commence your pension at your Normal Retirement Date, payable on an unreduced basis, you must have retired from active employment (i.e. terminated your employment). You are no longer allowed to contribute to any registered pension plan after the end of the year you reach age 71, regardless of whether you are still working. You must also receive your pension benefit from the Plan no later than the end of the year in which your 71st birthday occurs.
